O IS FOR OCTOPUS

THE OLFACTORY ORIFICE OF THE OCTOPUS

words by John Hinton
music by John Hinton and Jo Eagle

The olfactory orifice of the octopus
Is the sexiest nostril of the sea-dwelling populace.
As an octopus gets old,
These orifices switch role
From a focus on feeding
To sniffing out another thing they're needing:
They stop smelling after food,
Cos it’s time to get a bit rude.
After all, who needs to eat
When there’s love in the water to make your three hearts beat?
